The CK17LT
This brand-new, handmade wooden sea kayak follows the lines from the masterful design board of John Harris’ Chesapeake 17LT, and is at home on the open water. Made for touring and carrying a load, the 17LT handles exceptionally well in sea, waves and crosswinds. The graceful chines make for a sleek and stable craft, capable of carrying you very far. The Chesapeake family of kayaks have been used on Arctic expeditions and have been paddled in over 50 countries around the world. Safe, efficient and practical. Now is the time to upgrade to an heirloom-quality boat.
This kayak features several upgrades from the original 17LT, including day-glo cargo interiors (to see your gear when pulling into a cove at dusk) and strengthened stress points. The exterior is laminated with 6 ounce fiberglass, and the interior contains 4 ounce fiberglass reinforcements. Four layers of varnish complete the look. Watertight storage hatches are wood, providing an uninterrupted “old school” quality.
Footrests, seat cushion and Rapid Pulse (c) back band are included, along with all deck fittings.
